Business Unit Director – Commercial Brand Outsourcing

We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially driven Business Unit Director to lead a large\-scale, multi\-country commercial outsourcing programme supporting a portfolio of specialty pharmaceutical brands. This role is based across Europe (multi\-country remit) with frequent international travel.

This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for business performance, including P\&L ownership, client partnership, and delivery of commercial outcomes across complex therapy areas, including biologics.

You will play a critical role in shaping strategy, driving execution, and leading high\-performing teams to deliver measurable impact across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end\-to\-end performance of a multi\-country brand portfolio, delivering against revenue, growth, and strategic objectives


• Translate brand strategy into scalable, high\-impact commercial execution models


• Provide leadership across the full product lifecycle (pre\-launch, launch, in\-market optimisation)


• Drive excellence in field\-based promotional execution, enabling strong adoption of innovative therapies


• Own full P\&L accountability, including forecasting, cost management, and margin delivery


• Act as the senior strategic partner, influencing direction and driving long\-term portfolio growth


• Optimise field operating models, including resourcing, coverage, and performance management


• Lead and align cross\-functional teams across Commercial, Medical, Operations, Finance, HR, and Compliance


• Establish and lead governance frameworks to monitor performance, risk, and strategic alignment


• Ensure all activities are delivered in line with regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements

• 10–15\+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences commercial leadership


• Proven track record leading multi\-country commercial teams within specialty or biologic therapies


• Demonstrated success driving portfolio and brand performance across the full product lifecycle


• Strong P\&L ownership with clear financial and commercial accountability


• Deep expertise in field\-based commercial models and sales force effectiveness


• Ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple markets


• Experience operating in complex, multi\-country environments


• Strong strategic thinking, problem\-solving, and decision\-making capability


• Solid understanding of commercial compliance and governance frameworks


• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field

• Lead a high\-profile, multi\-country commercial programme with significant business impact


• Operate at the intersection of strategy, execution, and leadership


• Influence senior stakeholders and drive growth across complex markets


• Be part of a business delivering innovative commercial solutions to the healthcare sector
