Business Systems Analyst
We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our IT team in Lacock. Working across different areas of the business, you’ll play an important role in improving processes, developing our systems and helping ensure technology effectively supports our operational needs.
You'll work closely with colleagues across the business to understand challenges, gather requirements and translate them into effective system and process improvements. You’ll be involved throughout the lifecycle, from initial analysis and process mapping through to testing, implementation, training and ongoing improvement.
What you'll be doing
- Working with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements, challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Translating business requirements into practical systems and process solutions.
- Supporting the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of our JD Edwards ERP system.
- Reviewing and mapping existing processes and workflows to identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Documenting business requirements, processes, workflows and proposed solutions.
- Acting as a link between operational teams, IT, developers and external partners.
- Working closely with developers to support the delivery of system changes and enhancements.
- Developing test plans and scripts, coordinating testing and reviewing results.
- Supporting system implementations, upgrades, integrations and enhancements.
- Investigating and helping to resolve ERP and transactional system issues.
- Producing user guides, training materials and process documentation.
- Delivering training and supporting users when new systems, processes or functionality are introduced.
- Leading or supporting smaller projects and process improvement initiatives from requirements through to delivery.
- Supporting reporting and data analysis requirements across the business.
- Proactively identifying opportunities to improve how our systems and processes work.
What we're looking for
You'll be an analytical and naturally curious problem solver who enjoys getting to the root of an issue and finding the right solution. You'll be comfortable working with both technical and non\-technical colleagues and able to translate requirements clearly between the two.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Experience working in a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, ERP Analyst or similar role.
- Good knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and how they support different business functions.
- Experience gathering, analysing and documenting business and system requirements.
- Experience reviewing and mapping business processes.
- An understanding of areas such as Finance, Order Management, Warehouse, Inventory and Reporting.
- Experience supporting system testing, including developing test plans or test scripts.
- Strong problem\-solving and analytical skills.
- Good project management and organisational skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Confidence working with data and Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to communicate technical information clearly to non\-technical audiences.
Experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, food production, supply chain or similarly operational environment would also be beneficial.
