Business Support Manager
Hamilton Waste \& Recycling Ltd is looking for a proactive and experienced Business Support Manager to join the business and report directly to the Managing Director.
This is a varied, hands\-on role supporting the MD, GMs and wider management team across people matters, compliance, administration and key business projects.
A significant part of the role will involve coordinating employee relations matters including absence, welfare, investigations, grievances, disciplinary processes and performance management. The successful candidate will work closely with managers across the business and will have support from the wider group HR team on more complex or specialist HR matters.
The role will also provide oversight and coordination of compliance actions, audits, training records, insurance renewal information, management actions and other business support activities.
Key responsibilities include:
\- Supporting the Managing Director and wider management team with day\-to\-day business matters.
\- Coordinating employee relations cases and supporting managers with HR processes.
\- Assisting with investigations, grievances, disciplinary matters, absence, welfare and performance management.
\- Preparing meeting documentation, correspondence and action records.
\- Monitoring HR compliance and supporting implementation of legislative or policy changes.
\- Supporting review and maintenance of the policies and procedures.
\- Maintaining oversight of compliance actions, audits, training records and business documentation.
\- Supporting site managers with operational and compliance\-related actions.
\- Assisting with insurance renewals, annual declarations and gathering information from across the business.
\- Coordinating management actions and projects to ensure deadlines are met.
\- Identifying gaps, risks or overdue actions and escalating where appropriate.
\- Supporting continuous improvement across people, compliance and general business processes.
We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and comfortable working across different areas of the business.
Ideally you will have:
\- Experience in HR, compliance, business support or a similar management role.
\- Practical experience supporting employee relations matters.
\- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
\- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
\- The confidence to work with managers and employees at all levels.
\- The ability to manage competing priorities and follow actions through to completion.
\- A high level of discretion and confidentiality.
\- Experience within waste or transport environment would be beneficial.
\- CIPD or another relevant qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Pay: £35,000\.00\-£42,000\.00 per year
