Business Project Manager
At TenneT, we work every day on tomorrow’s electricity grid. Our goal? A reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy system. As a Business Project Manager within the Control Room of the Future team (CRoF), you play a crucial role in achieving this ambition.
To prepare for the future of grid operation, TenneT has established the CRoF programme. Replacing the current EMS/SCADA system is an important part of this programme, but it is only the beginning. The new system will enable the development of new functionalities, processes and ways of working. The CRoF programme is developing additional functionalities, for example to manage grid dynamics and optimise grid topology using AI. These tools may be developed internally, externally with existing or new suppliers, or in collaboration with research institutes and universities. Their implementation will require close cooperation with the IT department.
To coordinate and drive the development and implementation of these new functionalities, we are looking for a Business Project Manager.
- There is no official closing date for this vacancy. We will close it once we have found the right candidate. Therefore, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible
- A cover letter is optional, but we recommend including one, as it helps us better understand your application.
- If the vacancy is no longer listed on our website, it means the position has (temporarily) closed. Applications can only be submitted through the website, not by email.
Your profile and background
- You have knowledge and experience within the utility sector, preferably combined with knowledge of high\-voltage systems, grid operations and IT/OT systems.
- You are able to operate effectively in a complex environment with internal and external stakeholders, including situations where interests may conflict.
- You have demonstrable experience taking direct responsibility for the implementation of large and/or complex projects, potentially in an international context.
- You have a high level of integrity and are able to guide both IT and the business in the right direction, even when working under pressure.
- You have strong communication and presentation skills and communicate clearly and confidently in English and, preferably, Dutch.
- You have a decisive, proactive and results\-driven attitude and are able to engage effectively with stakeholders and keep projects moving forward.
Directs Work \- You bring structure and clarity to complex projects, ensuring that activities are well coordinated, responsibilities are clearly defined and everyone understands what is expected. By delegating effectively and giving people ownership, you create the conditions for the project team to perform at its best. You keep a close eye on progress and dependencies, stepping in when obstacles arise to keep the project moving forward and on track.
Drives Results \- You have a strong focus on delivering results and know how to keep a project team motivated along the way. When challenges or setbacks arise, you maintain momentum and encourage people to persevere. You know when to increase the sense of urgency and keep the team focused on achieving key milestones and meeting deadlines. Through your drive and leadership, you help turn project objectives into tangible results.
Balances Stakeholders \- You recognise that successful projects depend on understanding and balancing different stakeholder perspectives and interests. By actively engaging stakeholders and understanding their needs, expectations and priorities, you help the team make well\-considered decisions and find effective solutions. You encourage others to take different viewpoints into account and approach decisions with integrity and respect for cultural differences. By anticipating stakeholder needs and balancing competing interests, you help build support for the project and achieve sustainable results.
Your contribution to TenneT

For this role, we are looking for a Business Project Manager who combines strong project management skills with an understanding of the utility sector and the ability to navigate a complex stakeholder environment.

- Take direct responsibility for cooperation with software suppliers in the development and implementation of new modules.
- Safeguard the scope and purpose of the solutions and ensure they are fully integrated with and accepted alongside other IT and data solutions.
- Ensure that new solutions are effectively embedded in the organisation and that long\-term operational maintenance is secured.
