Are you a commercially focused business leader who can identify opportunities, win new business and develop strong customer relationships?

We are recruiting on behalf of a chemical manufacturer for an experienced Business Manager / Business Director Designate to join its leadership team. This key role will focus on driving the continued growth of the company's inorganic chemicals and metal pre-treatment product ranges.

You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on commercial leadership, managing the sales team, strengthening relationships with customers and suppliers, and identifying new markets and opportunities for sustainable growth.
Depending on your experience, you may join as Business Manager with the opportunity to develop into a Business Director role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop an ambitious sales team


• Identify and develop new commercial opportunities


• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and equipment partners


• Provide customers with technical support when required


• Strengthen existing supply chains and establish new ones


• Identify and develop new markets and the company's brands


• Analyse business performance and contribute to future growth strategies


• Prepare annual budgets and weekly sales, margin and performance reports


• Contribute to management meetings and wider business planning

About You

You will be a proactive and commercially minded leader who is comfortable taking ownership and turning ideas into measurable results.

You should have:

• Commercial sales experience and a proven ability to drive business growth within a similar sector / environment


• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a sales team


• Excellent communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills


• The confidence to work with customers, suppliers and commercial partners


• The ability to analyse performance and use this insight to support decisions


• A self-motivated and organised approach, with the ability to meet deadlines


• The flexibility to respond quickly to changing market conditions


• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills


• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

Experience within chemical distribution would be highly advantageous but is not completely essential.
