POSITION: Business Manger
LOCATION: Selfridges, Trafford Centre
WORKING HOURS: Full\-time (37\.5 hrs)
Since its foundation in 1828 by Pierre\-Francois Pascal Guerlain, the House of Guerlain has established itself as an icon within the world of fragrance and beauty; a reputation of unparalleled devotion to luxury, sophistication and elegance that has been handed down from generation to generation. Guerlain was the first to create scientifically\-based skincare, kohl eyeliner and mascara and introduced the world to lipsticks. Within over 700 fragrances (several of which are considered masterpieces of perfumery), the Guerlain name has become recognised as a symbol of artistry, superlative quality, impeccable style and ultimate grace.
As Business/ Account Manager of Guerlain in Selfridges, you are responsible for the management of the counter and team, achievement of counter sales targets and the level of service that is delivered to customers. Through your passion for the brand you will act as an Ambassador for brand at all times.
Job responsibilities
Main Responsibilities
SALES
- To achieve or exceed counter sales targets and corporate objectives
- To set up and follow individual and collective objectives on a weekly and monthly basis
- To collate all sales information and submit report to line manager by deadline given
- To be aware of competitor activity, communicate this to the team and take necessary steps to develop counter activity
- To pro\-actively seek opportunities and promote in\-store events to maximise sales
- To ensure that a luxury level of service is delivered to customers and develop customer loyalty
- To handle customer complaints discretely and effectively
- To ensure that the team are consistently following customer service guidelines and give feedback and act to highlight successes and address areas of concern
- To maintain the correct basic stock levels on counter
- To ensure that merchandising is displayed effectively and in line with Company guidelines
- To communicate the corporate strategy and goals to the team
- To ensure the development of team members through regular coaching and leading by example
- To appraise staff performance during the probation period, annual and mid\-year appraisals
- To recruit high calibre team members, manage their induction and performance effectively
- To ensure that all team members are professional and complying with Company guidelines
- To carry out any additional duties as directed by the management team
- To be a brand ambassador and representative at all times
- To adhere to all Company policies and procedures, as outlined in the employee handbook
- To build strong relationships with store management and to adhere to store policies and procedures
- To ensure efficient communication with and reporting to management and head office teams
- To manage all counter administration and reporting

It all began with Pierre\-François\-Pascal Guerlain. A perfumer, chemist, inventor and researcher, the House’s founder settled up his first boutique in the heart of Paris, at 42, rue de Rivoli. The address quickly became an essential destination for dandies and elegant women. The House’s reputation at the courts of Europe peaked when in 1853, for the marriage of Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie, Pierre\-François\-Pascal created his Eau de Cologne Impériale, which he gave to the young bride as a wedding present.
Since then, five successive generations of Guerlain perfumers have held the House’s creative reins. Today, Thierry Wasser is the heir to an olfactory legacy of some 1100 fragrances and the intrepid leader of future projects, exploring the world in search of the most exclusive raw materials.
