CJM Lumina are recruiting a Start Up Adviser to support a range of clients in East Renfrewshire as part of our delivery contract for Business Gateway and East Renfrewshire Council.

CJM Lumina know the Scottish Economic Eco System; we work across Scotland supporting a wide range of development organisations and functions to drive Scotland’s economy forward.

From Dumfries and Galloway to Highland Council, from Fife to the Western Isles we deliver support through business expert frameworks, business skills training, tailored programmes such as growth and accelerator, due diligence, and programme expert insight.

CJM support several framework agreements with the Business Gateway and Economic Development functions. These provide expert surgeries, expert consultancy, interventions include working with start\-up businesses, businesses in the early stages of growth, growth businesses and Third Sector organisations.

Delivering workshops, seminars, expert help, and sector specific workshops. CJM also carry out consultancy work across a wide range of topics including financial, hr, web, strategy, and marketing, among others.

Qualification / Experience requirements

Good Secondary Education and educated to Degree level, professional qualification or through professional experience.

Background

Must have an excellent knowledge of business and how to support businesses to develop in their chosen sector or field. The person we are looking for does not need to be an expert in numerous business sectors but have a full grasp of how to understand business needs and to support the business develop and grow businesses.

Type of resource

Part time with a minimum 2\.5 days per week. Some homeworking may be possible. Flexible working hours.

Initial contract term

Three\-month trial period and then permanent role.

Base Location

Based in our office in Greenlaw, Newton Mearns. (We will be moving offices by the start of 2027, they will still be in East Renfrewshire)

Travel

Some travel will be required. Candidate must be able to drive and willing to travel. Travel will be paid. Webinars and similar will be used where possible to deliver support and training.

Head of Enterprise Services.

Start Up Advisory

CJM on behalf of Business Gateway provides free business support to clients based in several Scottish Regions, this role will mainly focus on those in East Renfrewshire. We help entrepreneurs who need support to start\-up and grow their businesses by providing one\-to\-one business advice, online resources and by strengthening the connection between organisations and the business community.

Business Planning and Financial Forecasting

Since inception CJM has been delivering business planning and financial forecasting to clients on behalf of many of the Council Economic Development functions, Business Gateway and Enterprise Agencies. Therefore, part of the role will be to support the development, building and submission of cash flow forecasts, funding support, business plans, business model canvass and financial strategy or options appraisals.

• System and software skill, previous knowledge of Business gateway Dynamics system would be preferable but not a necessity as training would be provided.

Pay: £28,000\.00\-£32,000\.00 per year
