The Role
You will be responsible for generating new business across our restaurant, private dining and event spaces, developing strong relationships with companies, hotels, agencies and other organisations across Manchester and the wider region.
The role will involve a combination of telephone and email outreach, networking, face\-to\-face meetings and visiting prospective clients, companies and hotels to introduce Vermilion and develop long\-term commercial relationships.
You will also work closely with our events and management teams to convert opportunities into confirmed restaurant bookings, corporate events, private dining and larger functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively generate new restaurant, corporate and events business
- Develop relationships with local and national companies, hotels, concierges, event agencies and corporate bookers
- Visit businesses, hotels and potential partners to introduce Vermilion and our offering
- Arrange meetings, presentations, site visits and venue tours with prospective clients
- Build a strong pipeline of new business and regularly follow up opportunities
- Generate corporate dining bookings, client entertainment, team dinners, Christmas parties, conferences, celebrations and private events
- Identify opportunities for partnerships and preferred supplier relationships
- Reactivate previous clients and develop repeat business
- Attend relevant networking events and represent Vermilion externally
- Work closely with the sales and events team to ensure enquiries are followed up and converted
- Maintain accurate records of leads, meetings, follow\-ups and confirmed business
- Work towards agreed monthly and annual revenue targets
- Regularly report on pipeline, activity and new business secured
You will be confident, personable and comfortable approaching new businesses and building relationships from scratch, as\-well as developing our current database of clients.
Ideally, you will have experience in hospitality sales, events, hotels, restaurants, venues, corporate sales or business development, although we are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate a strong ability to win new business.
You should have:
- Strong business development and sales skills
- Excellent communication and relationship\-building ability
- Confidence meeting senior decision\-makers and corporate clients
- A proactive approach rather than waiting for enquiries to arrive
- Strong follow\-up and organisational skills
- A commercial mindset and understanding of revenue targets
- Professional presentation and a confident personality
- Knowledge of Manchester’s corporate, hospitality or events market would be an advantage
- The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the wider team
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous due to external client visits
