AIM Ltd produces a wide variety of bespoke insulation products to customer specification and also manufactures bespoke ranges of fire, thermal and acoustic insulation products \- primarily but not exclusively for the construction industry. AIM provides a first\-class service, supplying quality products on a rapid response basis. A range of dedicated hauliers and carriers ensure prompt deliveries throughout the UK and Ireland.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, results driven and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for owning and managing customer and installer relationships in the Southeast in a territory running from East Anglia down to the south east counties of Kent, Surrey and Sussex and the corresponding ears of East and South London. Your primary focus will be demand creation and subsequent sales of AIM branded products, working hand in hand with key sub\-contractors, funnelling project requirements through an aligned distribution network. Additionally, you will be seeking new business opportunities for AIM’s fabrication capabilities with OEM customers.

What does the role involve?

As a Business Development Manager, you will be the “on the ground” driving force for the growth of the AIM business within the Southeast of England. The primary challenge is to engage with your distribution customers so that they are fully aware of the AIM product and service offering generating a steady flow of enquiries and sales. Furthermore, you will be required to identify and build relationships with key installers so that their project requirements are serviced through your distribution customer base. You will work closely with the AIM specification team to ensure that project specifications are both held and understood by the installer base. You will be working hand in hand with technical support and internal sales personnel to deliver the highest levels of customer support and service are achieved.

What you will being:

  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, installers and colleagues

  • Construction industry knowledge, ideally within fire, thermal and acoustic insulation.

  • Ideally, already have contacts within the supply base (installers and distributors) for the construction of the external envelope (rainscreen and façade systems in particular.

  • An aptitude for understanding complex specification and technical details associated with the design of the building envelope.

  • Proven experience in sales\-driven roles dependant on the specifier to installer to distribution relationship

  • Able to demonstrate that they have established and cultivate strong relationships with channel partners and internal colleagues.

  • A self\-motivated, with a continuous improvement, mindset.

  • A great communicator both verbally and in the written word.

  • IT literate with extremely good attention to detail
