Founded in 2016, Crown Home Buying and Letting (CHBL) is a full\-service luxury estate agency specialising in the sale and rental of apartments in some of central London's most iconic residential developments. We work with a strong international client base, with a particular focus on landlords and investors from Greater China, and maintain a high level of premium properties at any given time across prime central London.
Overview
We are seeking a driven and persuasive Business Development Manager — currently working in the residential property industry (sales or lettings), with previous BD experience and a proven track record — to grow our prime central London lettings portfolio. This is a pure new business role for someone who enjoys winning new instructions and turning relationships into signed business. You will focus on bringing brand new landlords into the agency, while our client relations team handles onboarding and ongoing landlord care — leaving you free to keep hunting.
Fluency in Mandarin is essential; Cantonese is a strong plus. Excellent business English is also required.
Duties
- Develop and implement strategic plans to grow our residential lettings portfolio, with a particular focus on Mandarin\-speaking landlords and investors
- Identify and pursue new landlord opportunities through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach
- Build long\-term relationships with landlords and key referral partners
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop campaigns and materials tailored to Mandarin\-speaking audiences
- Manage the full BD cycle from initial contact through to signed instruction, then hand over cleanly to our client relations team
- Maintain accurate, up\-to\-date records of all client interactions and pipeline activity in the company CRM
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and the prime central London lettings landscape
- Prepare regular reports on pipeline status, instructions won, and market insights for senior management
- Current experience working in the residential property industry (sales or lettings) — this is essential
- A minimum of 2–3 years in prime central London property, with previous business development or senior negotiator experience and a proven track record of winning new client business
- Strong persuasive and relationship\-building skills — someone who turns a contact into a signed instruction
- Direct experience working with Chinese landlords and investors
- A genuine enjoyment of winning new business and the chase that comes with it
- Strong organisational skills and confidence using CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar) to manage pipeline and track activity
- A clear understanding of the luxury market and the lifestyle these clients expect
- A polished, professional manner appropriate to a HNW client base
- Fluency in Mandarin (Cantonese a plus), plus excellent spoken and written English
- Lettings\-specific experience (a plus, but sales\-only candidates with the right BD track record are welcome)
- ARLA Propertymark qualified
- Existing network within Chinese investor groups, family offices, or property circles in London or overseas
- Existing relationships in prime central London developments
- Knowledge of UK lettings law and regulatory standards
