Business Development Manager
About QTax
QTax develops software for UK accounting practices, helping accountants manage digital tax reporting and tax planning for their self\-employed clients.
We are looking for a hands\-on Business Development Manager to attract accounting practices, demonstrate our product and support new clients through onboarding and active use. You will work directly with the founders, with product training and support from the team.
Your responsibilities
- Identify UK accounting practices that could benefit from QTax and connect with their owners and decision\-makers.
- Reach prospective clients through telephone calls, email, LinkedIn and networking.
- Arrange and deliver product demonstrations, explaining how QTax fits into an accounting practice’s daily work.
- Manage follow\-ups and guide interested practices from the first conversation through to onboarding.
- Support new practices during their initial use of the product, coordinating with the team when needed.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including conversations, agreed actions and next steps.
- Gather client feedback, identify barriers to adoption and share practical recommendations with the founders and development team.
- Work with marketing colleagues or external providers to support client acquisition.
- Track and report on sales opportunities, demonstrations, onboarding progress and active practices.
- Experience in B2B sales, business development or a client\-facing software role with responsibility for winning new business.
- Excellent spoken and written English, with confidence conducting business calls and presentations for UK clients.
- Willingness to make outbound calls and build relationships with prospective clients.
- The ability to learn a software product and explain its benefits clearly to non\-technical users.
- Strong organisation, consistent follow\-up and the ability to manage your own workload.
- A practical, proactive approach and confidence working in a small, growing business.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and digital collaboration tools.
Russian language skills would be an advantage for day\-to\-day communication with the founders.
What we offer
- A base salary of £35,000–£45,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Commission in addition to your base salary, calculated as a percentage of revenue received by QTax from accounting practices you bring on board. The commission rate, qualifying period and payment terms will be agreed before you start.
