Oxford Goldenlink is a UK\-based event planning, brand promotion and project delivery company. We help Asian brands, businesses, educational institutions and other organisations launch and develop projects in the UK and European markets.

Our services include brand and product launches, exhibitions, trade shows, business forums, educational and entrepreneurship events, media coordination and UK and European project delivery support.

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to expand our institutional and commercial client base and convert prospective partnerships into sustainable, revenue\-generating projects.

The role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across the UK, Europe and Asia.

The successful candidate will build relationships with brands, companies, educational institutions, industry organisations and strategic partners. They will manage the business\-development process from initial research and contact through to client meetings, proposals, negotiations and signed commercial agreements.

This role is distinct from project delivery. Its primary focus is client acquisition, partnership development, revenue growth and the conversion of prospective opportunities and Memoranda of Understanding into confirmed projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business\-development plans for target markets in the UK, Europe and Asia.

  • Identify prospective brands, businesses, educational institutions, industry organisations and strategic partners.

  • Generate new business through direct outreach, professional networks, referrals, industry associations and events.

  • Arrange and conduct client meetings to understand commercial, event, media and market\-entry requirements.

  • Work with the project team to prepare proposals, service plans, presentations and commercial quotations.

  • Maintain an accurate pipeline of prospective clients, opportunities, proposals and expected revenue.

  • Follow up enquiries, proposals, partnership discussions and Memoranda of Understanding.

  • Convert prospective opportunities into signed contracts and revenue\-generating projects.

  • Develop and maintain long\-term relationships with existing clients and business partners.

  • Identify repeat business, cross\-selling and partnership opportunities.

  • Represent Oxford Goldenlink at exhibitions, trade shows, business forums, networking events and professional meetings.

  • Organise and participate in face\-to\-face meetings with clients and partners in the UK and overseas.

  • Support the development of webinars, livestreams, interviews and business\-related content designed to generate client engagement.

  • Coordinate with external media suppliers when developing promotional support proposals for clients.

  • Monitor market activity, competitors and developments relevant to Asian brands entering the UK and European markets.

  • Prepare regular reports on business\-development activity, conversion rates, projected revenue and market feedback.

  • Report directly to the Managing Director.

  • Undertake occasional short\-term UK, European or Asian business travel where required.
Essential requirements
  • Relevant experience in business development, account management, commercial partnerships or institutional sales.

  • Demonstrable experience identifying potential clients and developing new business opportunities.

  • Experience managing a sales or partnership pipeline from initial contact to agreement.

  • Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to prepare and present commercial proposals and service recommendations.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to work towards revenue and conversion objectives.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.

  • Strong written and spoken English.

  • Competence in Microsoft Office, CRM systems and online communication platforms.

  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Willingness to undertake occasional short\-term business travel.
Desirable requirements
  • Experience in events, exhibitions, media, brand promotion, education or international business.

  • Experience working with brands or institutions from Asian markets.

  • Understanding of UK and European business practices and cultural expectations.

  • Existing relationships with brands, educational institutions, industry organisations or event partners.

  • Experience developing webinars, professional content or online client\-engagement campaigns.

  • An additional Asian or European language would be advantageous but is not essential.
Working arrangements

Oxford Goldenlink operates a hybrid working model. The employee’s primary contractual work location will be 73A Wapping High Street, London, E1W 2YG, with approved remote working and attendance at client meetings, exhibitions and business events as required.

The company’s normal office hours are 09:00–19:00, with online client support operating across different international time zones. Individual working hours will remain limited to the contractual weekly hours and will be arranged flexibly where early or late international meetings are required.

Salary and benefits

  • 26 days’ annual leave plus applicable UK bank holidays.

Any commission or bonus will be additional to the guaranteed basic salary and will be processed through the company’s payroll.

Skilled Worker sponsorship may be considered for a suitable candidate already in the UK, subject to the applicant and position meeting all applicable immigration requirements, the company obtaining the required Undefined Certificate of Sponsorship allocation, and the successful completion of a right\-to\-work check.

Sponsorship is not guaranteed, and no employment may commence unless all applicable right\-to\-work requirements have been satisfied.
