Business Development Manager/Freight & Logistics
Job Summary
We are a part of a large German group here in the UK. We are looking for an experienced freight development Manager that should hold an active portfolio of customers. We will provide you with a strong buying power in freight costs including SCFI deals, long term BCO deals that will give you edge over your competitors. In return we ask for full commitment to the business. We need someone who is dynamic and results\-driven with track record in the freight and logistics business. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth. This role offers an exciting chance to contribute to organisational expansion through strategic planning and effective sales techniques. The ideal applicant will possess excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and experience with CRM software.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to identify new markets and customer segments.
- Build and maintain long\-term relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends and competitors’ activities.
- Lead negotiations and close deals to achieve sales targets.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create compelling proposals and presentations.
- Utilise CRM software, including Salesforce, to manage leads, track sales activities, and analyse customer data.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, pipeline status, and market insights for senior management.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the organisation’s services.
- Proven experience in business development or sales roles, preferably within the relevant industry sector.
- Strong proficiency in CRM software such as Salesforce and other CRM tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and develop actionable plans.
- Organised with strong time management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast\-paced environment.
