We are a newly established Sleep \& Wellness Clinic in Manchester, providing specialist services focused on sleep, wellbeing and associated health and wellness needs.

As a new and developing business, we are seeking an experienced, commercially minded and highly organised Business Development Manager to take an active role in establishing, developing and growing the clinic.

This is a varied and responsible position requiring an individual who is comfortable combining business development, marketing and relationship management with the practical day\-to\-day requirements of developing and operating a new clinic.

The Role

The Business Development Manager will work closely with the business owners and clinical professionals to develop the clinic, establish its services, build relationships with consultants and other healthcare professionals, develop referral and commercial opportunities, and support the effective operation and growth of the business.

The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of a broad range of business development and operational functions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development and Growth

· Develop and implement the clinic’s business development strategy.

· Identify new commercial opportunities and areas for growth.

· Develop strategies to increase patient enquiries, appointments and revenue.

· Establish and maintain relationships with consultants, healthcare professionals, GP practices, hospitals, private healthcare providers and other potential referral partners.

· Identify opportunities for partnerships and collaborative working with relevant organisations.

· Research the local and wider market and monitor competitor activity.

· Assist in developing new services and commercial opportunities for the clinic.

· Prepare business development plans, proposals, reports and performance updates.

· Monitor business performance and recommend measures to improve growth and profitability.

Consultant and Clinical Services Coordination

· Identify and approach suitable consultants and other healthcare professionals who may provide services through the clinic.

· Assist with arranging and coordinating consultant clinics and availability.

· Liaise with consultants regarding clinic sessions, appointments and operational requirements.

· Develop and maintain professional relationships with consultants and other clinical service providers.

· Coordinate consultant bookings and ensure appropriate clinic facilities and resources are available.

· Assist management in developing the range of specialist services offered by the clinic.

Marketing and Promotion

· Develop and implement marketing strategies for the clinic.

· Promote the clinic’s services to prospective patients, healthcare professionals and referral sources.

· Coordinate digital marketing, social media, website content and other promotional activities.

· Liaise with external marketing, website, design and advertising providers where required.

· Develop promotional materials, information packs and business communications.

· Monitor marketing campaigns and evaluate their effectiveness.

· Assist in developing the clinic’s brand and establishing a strong presence within Manchester and the surrounding areas.

· Identify opportunities for events, networking, professional engagement and community promotion.

Purchasing, Ordering and Supplier Management

· Identify the equipment, products, consumables and other resources required for the clinic.

· Source appropriate suppliers and obtain competitive quotations.

· Negotiate with suppliers where appropriate.

· Arrange and oversee purchasing and ordering of equipment, products and consumables.

· Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure essential items are available when required.

· Monitor expenditure and seek cost\-effective purchasing arrangements.

· Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers.

· Assist with procurement planning as the clinic expands.

Clinic Operations and Administration

· Assist with the establishment and ongoing development of appropriate administrative and operational systems.

· Support the effective management of patient enquiries and appointment booking processes.

· Coordinate diaries, consultant availability and clinic room utilisation.

· Help develop procedures to ensure a professional and efficient patient experience.

· Liaise with staff, consultants, suppliers and external service providers.

· Assist with recruitment and coordination of administrative and support staff where required.

· Support management with budgeting, cost control and general business administration.

· Maintain accurate business records and management information.

· Identify operational problems and implement practical solutions.

· Ensure that the clinic maintains a professional, welcoming and efficient environment.

Person Specification

The successful candidate should ideally have:

· Previous experience in business development, business management, healthcare management, clinic management or a comparable commercial role.

· Strong commercial awareness and an ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.

· Excellent organisational and project management skills.

· Experience of marketing and promoting services.

· Experience of purchasing, procurement or supplier management.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Confidence in developing professional relationships with consultants, healthcare professionals, suppliers and commercial partners.

· Good IT and administrative skills.

· An ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritise effectively.

· A proactive and practical approach to problem solving.

· The ability to work independently and take responsibility for projects from conception through to implementation.

· A professional and confidential approach when dealing with patients and healthcare professionals.

Experience within a private healthcare, medical, wellness, sleep, diagnostic or clinical environment would be advantageous, although candidates with strong transferable business development and management experience will also be considered.

Working Hours

This is a full\-time position of 40 hours per week. Some flexibility may occasionally be required according to the operational needs of the clinic, including consultant schedules, business meetings, marketing activities or events.

Salary

£42,000 per annum, negotiable depending upon the successful candidate’s experience, qualifications and suitability for the position.
