Green Birds Construction is a growing construction and maintenance contractor specialising in responsive repairs, damp and mould remediation, void refurbishments, roofing works, leak investigations, and planned maintenance within the social housing and residential sectors.
We work closely with local authorities, housing associations, managing agents, and private clients, delivering high\-quality, compliant, and customer\-focused services across London and the surrounding areas.
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to help expand our client base, strengthen industry relationships, and support the long\-term growth of the business.
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in developing new business opportunities, building relationships with housing associations and commercial partners, managing procurement and framework applications, and supporting the company’s overall commercial growth strategy.
This is a hands\-on role suited to someone with strong knowledge of the social housing, construction, or property maintenance sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across housing associations, local authorities, managing agents, and private sector clients
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision\-makers, procurement teams, and asset managers
- Manage and coordinate framework, DPS, and supplier onboarding applications
- Monitor and identify tender opportunities through procurement portals and industry networks
- Prepare and manage PQQs, SQs, capability statements, and supporting documentation
- Coordinate meetings, presentations, and networking opportunities with prospective clients
- Work alongside operational teams to ensure smooth handover of new projects and opportunities
- Manage CRM systems and maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client communications
- Develop strategic partnerships with contractors, consultants, and industry stakeholders
- Support marketing initiatives, company presentations, and business development campaigns
- Attend industry events, networking functions, and client meetings where required
- Provide regular pipeline, sales, and business development reports to management
- Previous experience in a Business Development, Commercial, or Account Management role within:
- Social Housing
- Construction
- Property Maintenance
- Facilities Management
- Planned or Responsive Maintenance
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement and housing association frameworks
- Experience working with tenders, frameworks, DPS systems, and supplier onboarding processes
- Excellent communication and relationship\-building skills
- Strong organisational and reporting abilities
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Full UK driving licence
- Existing relationships within housing associations, local authorities, or Tier 1 contractors
- Experience with CRM systems
- Knowledge of damp \& mould, disrepair, voids, or responsive maintenance sectors
- Understanding of procurement portals such as:

- CHIC
- Fusion21
- Delta eSourcing
- Contracts Finder

Salary
Competitive salary dependent on experience.
Pay: £24,599\.96\-£55,000\.00 per year
