About The Role

  • This role is an apprenticeship and as such, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a course of study leading to a Business Administration level 3 qualification. If you do not hold grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and/or English, you may be required to pass a functional skills equivalent as part of the apprenticeship. This qualification will take 18 months. We offer a permanent contract from day one (subject to a 6\-month probation) and on successful completion, annual salary will increase to £25,185\.
An exciting opportunity have arisen in the Resourcing Team for a HR Assistant Apprentice in the Human Resources, Organisation Development \& Transformation (HROD\&T) Service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player to join the team to deliver a high\-quality recruitment service to the organisation. The Service is a high\-paced environment, you will be prepared for a challenge and willingness to ensure the completion of tasks and deadlines are met.

This role would be ideal for someone who is looking for a career in Human Resources. You will:

  • contribute to the objectives of the HR Operations Service by assisting in the delivery of a high\-quality support service.

  • be trained to represent the service effectively through communication with stakeholders and by participating under supervision in a range of activities in line with the Council’s priorities.

  • after training, assist other team members in updating service information systems regularly to ensure all information is accurate and relevant.

  • work effectively as part of the team to assist in the provision of a high\-quality service to support the delivery of services in the organisation.

  • assist in dealing effectively, courteously, tactfully and diplomatically to all queries and correspondence both written and verbal from a variety of internal and external customers.

  • develop an understanding of the Our Manchester principles and behaviours which are essential to our work.

  • spend some of your time undertaking and completing a relevant apprenticeship qualification and will be provided with a solid grounding in the world of work and the chance to learn fundamental work\-related skills which will put you in good stead for the future.

The successful candidate will have strong IT skills in a range of Microsoft packages and the organisational skills to cope with a multi\-tasked workload. Applicants need to demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing and have a strong personal commitment to self\-development and the drive to deliver a quality service to customers.
