A proactive and commercially minded Business Analyst to support the identification, analysis, evaluation, and delivery of innovation initiatives across the business. The role will help turn ideas into measurable business outcomes through effective discovery, as\-is and to\-be analysis, requirements lifecycle management, options analysis, business case development, benefits realisation, testing support, and stakeholder engagement.

Based within the Data \& Innovation team, the role will work with stakeholders across all areas of the DM to understand business challenges, define and manage requirements, assess solution options, evaluate suppliers, and support the delivery of Proofs of Concept (PoCs), Proofs of Value (PoVs) and initiative implementation. The successful candidate will use business analysis techniques such as user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, backlog support, process mapping, benefits measurement and solution validation to provide insight and recommendations to the Innovation Team and business leaders, helping to drive informed decision\-making and successful adoption of new technologies, processes and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support discovery, as\-is and to\-be analysis, options analysis, and evaluation of innovation opportunities across the business.

  • Develop robust business cases for innovation initiatives, including assessment of costs, benefits, risks, dependencies, and expected business outcomes.

  • Work with stakeholders to elicit, document, prioritise, validate, and manage business requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Create and maintain user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, process maps, options assessments, business cases, and other project artefacts.

  • Research, evaluate, and compare suppliers, technologies, and solution options to support evidence\-based decision\-making.

  • Support agile and iterative delivery practices, including backlog refinement, prioritisation, sprint planning input, and clarification of user stories.

  • Support the planning, delivery, testing, validation, and evaluation of PoCs, PoVs and approved innovation initiatives.

  • Assist with rollout, adoption, and transition of approved initiatives, including assessing business impacts and readiness for change.

  • Define, track, and report on benefits, performance, outcomes, return on investment, and value measurement for innovation initiatives.

  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities to gather insight, build consensus, and support decision\-making.

  • Provide business analysis expertise and advice to the Innovation Team, senior leaders, and management teams while managing multiple priorities independently.

Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience working as a Business Analyst, preferably within business transformation, innovation, technology, digital, or change\-related environments.

  • Experience delivering as\-is and to\-be analysis, gap analysis, process mapping, requirements elicitation, and requirements management across the delivery lifecycle.

  • Experience developing business cases, options assessments, and recommendations, including financial analysis, benefits assessment, risks, and dependencies.

  • Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights and practical recommendations.

  • Ability to define user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional requirements in collaboration with stakeholders and delivery teams.

  • Experience supporting agile or iterative delivery practices, including backlog management, prioritisation, refinement, and clarification of requirements.

  • Experience supporting testing and validation activities, including test scenario input, user acceptance testing, issue resolution, and confirming solutions meet business needs.

  • Ability to assess and compare suppliers, products, technologies, and service offerings against business, user, technical, and commercial needs.

  • Understanding of benefits realisation principles and experience tracking and reporting measurable business outcomes, performance indicators, and return on investment.

  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and present recommendations to senior stakeholders.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities independently while working collaboratively across cross\-functional teams.

  • Business Analysis certification, such as BCS, IIBA, or equivalent, is desirable but not essential.
