<p><strong>What does a Business Affairs Manager do at WPP Production?</strong> </p>
<p>The Business Affairs Manager works as the “right-hand” to the broadcast/interactive/print producers. They are responsible for handling the business details of producing television and radio commercials, and interactive ads. The Business Affairs Manager is also responsible for assisting producers in the bidding process for television commercials and prepare all bid packages. They will formulate and issue TV, radio & interactive production estimates, work with client cost consultants, maintain production files, and issue all production contracts and production insurance.</p>
<p>They will also provide production support to producers for broadcast, print, digital. As well as talent usage rights expertise and coordination for music, talent, stock footage, etc. The Business Affairs Manager will issue purchase orders to suppliers, approve vendor invoices, and work with all suppliers in the broadcast production process.</p>
<p><strong>Reporting lines and key stakeholders:</strong> </p>
<p>This role reports to the Head of Business Affairs. </p>
<p> You will work closely with client, finance and production teams. </p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Review creative materials and advise Agency teams on talent, flag potential copyright issues and advise on next steps</li>
<li>Work with Agency legal counsel on issues including updating releases, contract templates, risk assessment and indemnifications</li>
<li>Review AICP, AICE, animation and music bids with Producer</li>
<li>Work with cost consultants for adherence to appropriate Client budgeting and contractual guidelines</li>
<li>Create and issue appropriate award documents, insurance, licensing and talent agreements and vendor purchase orders</li>
<li>Flag possible legal, clearance, talent, and/or logistical issues; suggest solutions</li>
<li>Handle full-up TV/content production, test, re-edit and radio jobs</li>
<li>Review bids with Producers</li>
<li>Oversee vendor set up/payment process in partnership with finance</li>
<li>Work with Client’s Production Consultants</li>
<li>Negotiate bids with vendors</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Talent:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Advise Agency teams and Clients on union rules, regulations and best practices</li>
<li>Issue talent contracts, session reports</li>
<li>Evaluate and manage union claims</li>
<li>Create and negotiate music vendor agreements</li>
<li>Issue talent agreements and foreign talent contracts</li>
<li>Estimate talent sessions</li>
<li>Prepare production estimates</li>
<li>Issue purchase orders, contracts, insurance declarations, and releases</li>
<li>Handles celebrity and music license negotiations or works with third-parties when required</li>
<li>Review 3rd party licenses and contracts</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>5-8+ years Business Affairs - Agency or Production Company experience.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of SAG-AFTRA and AFM contracts</li>
<li>Experience with US and foreign productions</li>
<li>Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of Agency and Client personnel</li>
<li>Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment</li>
</ul>
<p>The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $60,000 to $140,000. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
