Location: Kingston-upon-Thames
Salary: £37,000 - £38,000 per annum
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Hours: Monday – Friday, (early finish on Fridays. On call 1 week in every 8-10 weeks £300, extra for call outs.
My client a University in Kingston upon Thames is looking to recruit Building services engineers to work within the maintenance Team.
Single location but very occasionally required to work in one of their other sites (10 min walk away)
Working Mon - Fri with an hour for lunch - 37 hours a week
Paid on call £300 a week (approx. only required 1 in 8-10 weeks
Basic salary up to 37.5k + great benefits that include 28 days annual leave + bank holidays.

About the role:
We are seeking a skilled Building Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for performing planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) on-site, using the PDA and Planon system to ensure the university remains fully operational.
Responsibilities:
- Plumbing Maintenance: Address and resolve plumbing issues to keep all facilities functional.
- Mechanical Troubleshooting: Apply your mechanical expertise to diagnose and repair various systems.
- Technical Interpretation: Understand and interpret logic controllers and building drawings to ensure accurate maintenance and repairs.
- Supervision: Oversee maintenance tasks and manage contractors to ensure work is completed to high standards.
- Problem Solving: Tackle technical issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to university operations.
- Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to university students and staff, ensuring their needs are met promptly and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and skilled professional, dedicated to maintaining and repairing building systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
- Experience: At least 5 years of maintenance experience (preferred).
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Communication Skills: Proficient in English for clear and effective communication.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems and their maintenance.
- Technical Skills: Experience with logic controllers and the ability to interpret building operation and maintenance manuals (O&Ms).
- Independence: Capable of working independently, managing your own tasks, and completing PPMs efficiently.
- Driving Licence: Highly desirable
