A Alexander Group is growing, and we’re looking for someone to lead our operations teams on a busy pipeline of exciting commercial projects, based in Glasgow.

Established in 1962, we’re a multi\-disciplinary national contractor, serving a wide range of domestic and commercial clients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

From our base in Glasgow, we deliver electrical, plumbing and HVAC services as well as fire and security for homes and businesses alike. Our flexibility, commitment to customer excellence and wealth of industry experience have kept us thriving for over 60 years.

In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind projects that go beyond what our customers expect, while championing the values that have built our reputation.

What you’ll be doing

\- Lead site\-based teams delivering M\&E projects, keeping things positive, productive and on track.

\- Take charge of resourcing, from staff and subcontractors to equipment, materials and plant, with a sharp eye on budgets, margins and costs.

\- Attend project meetings to monitor and report on site progress and be the go\-to person for resolving technical queries and variations as they come up.

\- Keep a close eye on project costs against budget, flagging any concerns early so they can be dealt with quickly.

\- Manage a varied team of operatives day to day, keeping progress moving and tackling any issues or concerns as they arise.

\- Provide leadership, guidance and direction to our mechanical and electrical teams, on both the technical and commercial side.

\- Put together materials and plant lists and assess and review quotations before anything is ordered.

\- Carry out valuations and provide head office with the information needed for payments.

\- Build strong relationships with subcontractors, making sure they deliver the performance, quality and value we expect.

\- Get out on site regularly, completing progress reports and taking action where needed.

What you’ll bring

\- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

\- A valid driving licence (essential).

\- A mechanical or building services background, with a solid understanding of plumbing, heating, drainage, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

\- A friendly, personable and highly motivated approach, with a strong work ethic.

\- A keen eye for detail.

\- Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft applications.

\- Great communication skills and a real team player attitude.
