+Purpose of the Role
The Building Safety Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Building Safety Manager to ensure our higher\-risk buildings are safe, compliant and well managed in line with the Building Safety Act 2022\.
You’ll help maintain accurate safety records (the “golden thread”), coordinate inspections and actions, and act as a key link between residents, contractors and internal teams. This is a varied, hands\-on role focused on keeping our buildings safe and our customers informed.
*This role is based at our Fusion site in Salford, with regular travel required to other locations across Greater Manchester, including Wigan and Handforth. As such, a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.*
Key Responsibilities
Compliance
+ Maintain accurate building safety records and documentation
+ Coordinate inspections, including fire doors, compartmentation surveys and routine safety visits
+ Support and update action trackers for fire, structural and safety compliance
+ Carry out regular building safety checks
+ Update evacuation information, signage and noticeboards
+ Identify and report breaches of occupancy or safety requirements
+ Support delivery of fire safety, evacuation and security arrangementsHealth, Safety \& Security
+ Support compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act and related regulations
+ Log and escalate incidents, near misses and safety concerns
+ Assist with regulatory reporting and evidence requests
+ Maintain risk assessment and compliance records
+ Support completion of PEEPs and RPEEPs with neighbourhood teams
+ Act as a workplace First AiderContractor Management
+ Coordinate contractor access, appointments and resident communications
+ Ensure all contractor documentation (RAMS, certificates, evidence) is in place
+ Monitor progress of fire and safety works (e.g. FRA actions, fire doors, compartmentation)
+ Attend inspections and record findingsCustomer Focus
+ Deliver a responsive, customer\-focused service to residents in high\-rise buildings
+ Support resident engagement activities such as meetings and drop\-in sessions
+ Log and respond to building safety concerns
+ Maintain communication logs and provide timely updates
+ Help produce safety updates, notices and resident informationPartnership Working
+ Work with partners including Fire \& Rescue, Local Authority and Police
+ Liaise with internal teams (Repairs, Neighbourhoods, Customer Services)
+ Support engagement with engineers and specialist consultants
+ Work closely with the Building Safety Manager on safety case developmentQualifications, knowledge, skills and experience
Essential:
+ Educated to GCSE standard including Maths and English.
Hold a recognised Building Management or Fire Safety qualification (i.e. CIOB Level 6 Building Safety Management, BSC Fire Safety and Risk Management) or be willing to work towards. First Aid CertificateDesirable
A relevant industry or building management qualification
P901 legionelle management and control
Asbestos awareness
HNC or equivalent in the constructin or housing management sector
