A wonderful charity based near Brockley (SE4) are seeking a part time Bookkeeper (14 hours per week) for maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and audit-ready financial records. The successful candidate will take full ownership of day-to-day financial operations and core processes, ensuring all financial information is reliable and clearly documented for decision-making, audit, and regulatory review.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Maintain organised and complete financial records using XERO.
- Process purchase invoices, manage payments, and issue rent invoices.
- Monitor incoming income and ensure correct allocation of receipts.
- Complete regular bank reconciliations and manage the finance email inbox.
- Produce draft management accounts, including income, expenditure, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Work with the CEO to prepare the annual draft budget and quarterly forecasts.
- Maintain audit-ready records and ensure compliance with HMRC and other regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and financial controls.
- Minimum 3 years’ hands-on bookkeeping experience.
- Experience using Xero (desirable)
- Full responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close, and preparation of management accounts.
- Experience working to tight monthly deadlines with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
- Understanding of working within a regulated, safeguarding-led environment.
