The Role

This role is suited to a Bookkeeper with a strong, confident grasp of double entry bookkeeping who is also highly comfortable working in a tech\-first environment. You will be responsible for completing monthly bookkeeping and supporting the preparation of management information for a portfolio of clients, using MazApp, our proprietary, cutting\-edge software platform.

You will need to be intellectually curious, open\-minded, and willing to challenge traditional ways of working. While a solid technical foundation is essential, success at Mazuma also depends on your ability to adapt, learn quickly, and embrace new systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete monthly bookkeeping to a high technical standard, applying robust double entry principles throughout


• Prepare and amend management accounts and supporting schedules


• Prepare and amend VAT returns accurately and on time


• Ensure all deadlines and internal SLAs are consistently met


• Work in a systems\-first way, using technology to drive accuracy, efficiency and scalability


• Actively engage with training and development, taking ownership of your professional progression


• Work closely with Accountants and the Accounting Team Manager to resolve queries and improve processes


• Consistently demonstrate and uphold Mazuma’s values

You are an experienced Bookkeeper with a very strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping and the confidence to apply it independently. You are technically sound, highly organised, and comfortable working at pace in a structured, technology\-led environment.

You will bring:

• Solid, practical experience in bookkeeping with demonstrable double entry competence


• High confidence using accounting software and digital tools, with the ability to learn new systems quickly


• Strong IT skills and numerical accuracy


• Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines


• A proactive, solutions\-focused mindset and high levels of personal accountability


• An open and adaptable approach, with a willingness to work differently to traditional accountancy firms

• £27,000 salary per annum
