Bid Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and strategic Bid Manager to lead the preparation and submission of competitive bids and tenders. Beechwood Equipment is a well established SME supplier to UK MOD and Emergency Services and we are seeking a Commercial Manager to work from our offices in Guildford Surrey. The Commercial Manager position is focused upon business winning and contract support working with government customers and our supply chain.
Responsibilities as Commercial Manager will include:
Acting as the primary customer interface for proposals and contractual matters
Leading and influencing the negotiation plan and customer contract negotiations (customers will be a mixture of government and commercial organisations/businesses).
Managing commercial issues and internal governance including leading resolution of all issues.
Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, devising appropriate mitigations including seeking, presenting and obtaining relevant approvals.
Leading the preparation of bids, and management of existing contracts.
Through life contract management support including variations, warranty and non warranty issues, dispute management and close\-out issues.
Working with the supply chain, to select correct product solutions, negotiate terms and manage flow\-down of risk.
Developing and applying expert knowledge of the products and services
Qualifications
Proven experience of bidding and contracting with customers in Defence, Emergency Services, Government Agencies.
Experience of contracting with commercial organisations and private business as part of the Supply Chain.
Knowledge of various types of contracting arrangements, structures, terms and conditions with an understanding of contract pricing and build up.
Knowledge and experience of contract management issues, including changes, claims and disputes and risk management.
Enthusiasm with high levels of self\-motivation, integrity and resilience, with an ability to prioritise a demanding workload. Must be able to operate under pressure whilst maintaining the highest standards of conduct and professionalism.
Good communications skills and an ability to forge good working relationships with customers and suppliers.
Pay: £30,000\.00 per year
