The Role
We are seeking a reliable and professional Bespoke Van Driver to join our team, responsible for the safe delivery and installation support of antique furniture and luxury interior pieces to our showrooms across the UK and Europe, as well as directly to client homes.
The position includes extended trips and overtime, depending on project requirements, this is a hands\-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, handles valuable items with care, and thrives in a dynamic, fast\-paced environment where flexibility is essential.
This is a highly varied role with no fixed routes or standard multi\-drop schedules. Work involves a continually changing itinerary, including short\-notice deliveries, long\-distance journeys, and overnight trips, both within the UK and across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe transportation and delivery of antique furniture and bespoke interior pieces
- Handling, loading, and unloading high\-value items with exceptional care and attention
- Deliveries to de Gournay showrooms, private residences, and project sites across the UK and Europe
- Assisting with placement and positioning of furniture on\-site when required
- Planning and managing delivery routes efficiently using our internal systems.
- Ensuring company vehicle is maintained, clean, and compliant with regulations.
- Representing de Gournay professionally when interacting with clients and colleagues.
Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy furniture safely
- Previous experience in delivery driving, removals, or handling high\-value goods is preferred
- Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays and European trips
- Able to work flexibly, often at short notice, and undertake additional hours when required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to care and quality
- Professional, courteous, and presentable at all times
- A proactive and adaptable approach to changing schedules and last\-minute instructions
