teach195\. is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and resilient Behaviour Support Worker to join our team.
In this rewarding role, you will provide personalised support to students and young people experiencing behavioural, emotional, social, or developmental challenges. You will work closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary professionals to implement effective support strategies that promote positive behaviour, emotional well\-being, and personal development.
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play an important role in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where individuals feel valued, encouraged, and able to reach their full potential. You will also support the safe and proactive management of challenging behaviours using appropriate de\-escalation and behaviour\-support techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small\-group support to students with behavioural, emotional, social, or developmental needs
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, communication, and social skills
- Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support strategies in collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals
- Observe, monitor, and record behaviour patterns, progress, and outcomes, adapting support strategies where appropriate
- Support students during classroom activities, transitions, and community\-based activities, encouraging positive engagement and appropriate social interactions
- Use effective de\-escalation and behaviour management techniques to respond safely and appropriately to challenging situations
- Provide crisis intervention and follow agreed safeguarding and behaviour\-support procedures when required
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
- Support the development and delivery of programmes focused on social skills, communication, emotional regulation, and independence
- Contribute to assessments, reviews, and team meetings to ensure support strategies remain effective and appropriate
- Work collaboratively with families, school staff, and external professionals to provide consistent support
- Encourage and recognise individual achievements, helping to build confidence, resilience, and self\-esteem
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with relevant policies and safeguarding requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A diploma, degree, or relevant qualification in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Behavioural Science, Special Education, or a related field
- Previous experience supporting individuals with autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, SEMH, or behavioural and emotional needs is desirable
- Experience working within schools, specialist provisions, residential settings, group homes, or similar environments is advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and professionals
- A calm, patient, empathetic, and proactive approach when managing challenging situations
- The ability to remain composed under pressure and respond appropriately to potentially high\-risk situations
- A genuine commitment to supporting individuals to develop their confidence, independence, and emotional well\-being
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- £95\.00 – £105\.00 per day, depending on experience and role requirements
