Behaviour Mentor – School Setting

We are working with a school in the Chorley area that is looking to appoint a confident and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support pupils who require additional guidance with their behaviour and emotional regulation. This is a highly rewarding role suited to someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on young people’s lives.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who may display challenging behaviours, helping them to engage in learning, build positive relationships, and develop coping strategies. You will play a key role in promoting a safe, supportive, and structured environment within the school.

Key responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
Support students in developing social skills and emotional resilience
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies
De-escalate challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour

Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural needs
A calm, patient, and proactive approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build trust and positive relationships with students
Resilience and confidence in managing challenging situations
An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
