SALARY: £30,240 per annum + Benefits

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

LOCATION: Hybrid working with both site-based and remote work covering the Surrey Region

WORKING HOURS: 37 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday, including one evening session

JOB OVERVIEW

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Behaviour Change Practitioner to help people develop safer, healthier patterns of thinking and behaviour.

The Behaviour Change Practitioner will deliver one-to-one and group interventions using CBT and DBT-informed approaches across community, probation, prison, police and remote settings.

Working with partner agencies, the Behaviour Change Practitioner will support risk management, safeguarding and positive outcomes while maintaining clear professional boundaries.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Behaviour Change Practitioner include:

  • Assessment and Intervention Planning: Conduct assessments, inductions and personalised intervention planning

  • Behavioural Interventions: Deliver CBT and DBT-based one-to-one and group interventions, helping participants recognise and change harmful behaviours

  • Case Management and Records: Maintain accurate, timely case records, reports, evaluations and progress updates

  • Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with police, probation, prisons, safeguarding teams and other professionals

  • Risk Management: Contribute to risk management processes, including MASH and MAPPA forums where required

  • Professional Supervision: Participate in clinical and management supervision

  • Managing Challenging Behaviour: Safely manage challenging, resistant or high-risk behaviours while maintaining professional boundaries

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Experience of working within risk management or safeguarding frameworks

  • Experience of managing a caseload and prioritising effectively

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries

  • Experience delivering support both face-to-face and remotely

  • Good IT, administration and record-keeping skills

Desirabl
  • Qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Probation or a related discipline

  • Knowledge or experience of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Experience contributing to MASH, MAPPA or similar multi-agency forums

  • Experience delivering interventions within criminal justice, social care or domestic abuse services

  • Understanding of the social and psychological factors associated with domestic abuse and harmful behaviours
