Job Type: Full\-Time (40 hours/week). Mondays and Tuesdays off.

The Intrepid Fox is a new bistro opening this month in Madrid in the Tirso de Molina neighborhood. Our vision is to be a neighborhood spot where the focus is on unique tapas, delicious cocktails, craft beer, and natural wine.
We want someone with ideas.
Someone who genuinely gets excited about finding a great independent beer, discovering a funky natural wine, making the perfect Negroni, or figuring out how to turn an interesting ingredient into a homemade soda. We want someone who loves sharing their enthusiasm for drinks with guests and the team.
You should be comfortable leading a team, teaching others, talking to guests, managing the practical side of a bar and getting stuck in during a busy service.
Our drinks program will focus on craft beers, natural wines, classic ingredient\-forward cocktails, tasty non\-alcoholic options, and homemade sodas.
THE ROLE
As Bar Manager, you’ll take an active role in building and running the bar. You’ll help establish our drinks program, develop the team, maintain standards, and create a welcoming atmosphere for both our guests and staff.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Previous experience working behind the bar
- Strong knowledge and genuine interest in craft beer and natural wine
- Excellent understanding of classic cocktails
- Experience creating or working with house\-made ingredients, syrups, sodas, infusions, etc.
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Someone who is organized, reliable, and comfortable taking responsibility
- A friendly, positive personality and a genuine ability to work well with a team
- Someone who enjoys developing ideas and contributing to the direction of a new bistro
- Comfortable training and mentoring other bartenders
- High standards for following safety guidelines, cleanliness, organization, and consistency
- Previous experience managing stock, ordering, inventory, and bar costs
- Work with management on pricing, menu changes, specials, and beverage strategy to keep costs at desired levels
- Maintain quality relationships with distributors and beverage representatives
- Receive and organize deliveries
- Understanding of beverage costing, portion control, waste, and profitability
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Spanish working rights required
- Helping develop and maintain the bar's cocktail, beer, wine, and soft drink programs
- Creating and maintaining recipes, prep systems, and service standards
- Leading and training the bar team
- Managing ordering, stock, inventory, and waste
- Maintaining strong bar organization and cleanliness
- Ensuring consistency and quality throughout service
- Managing bar opening and closing procedures
- Working closely with the General Manager and wider management team
- Helping shape the culture and identity of the bar
- Contributing ideas for new drinks, ingredients, suppliers, events, and promotions
- Creating an environment where both guests and staff feel welcome
- Full\-time position — 40 hours per week
- Mondays and Tuesdays off
