We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and experienced Bank Residential Support Workers to join our team at our Ofsted\-regulated children's home in Oldbury.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have experience working with children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and are looking for flexible work while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
As a Bank Residential Support Worker, you will provide high\-quality care and support to children and young people, helping to maintain a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment.
About the Role
As a Bank Residential Support Worker, you will work as part of a dedicated team to provide consistent, child\-centred care. You will support young people with their emotional wellbeing, personal development, education, independence, and everyday needs.
You will be expected to work flexibly across shifts and provide additional staffing support where required, including covering staff shortages, annual leave, sickness, and increased staffing needs.
You will work closely with the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, Senior Residential Support Workers, families, and external professionals to ensure young people receive the highest standard of care.
Shift Pattern

- Flexible shifts based on the needs of the home and your availability.
- Sleep\-in shifts where required.
- £70 per sleep\-in
What You Will Be Doing
- Providing high\-quality, person\-centred care and support to children and young people.
- Creating a warm, safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
- Supporting young people who may display challenging or complex behaviours.
- Helping young people regulate their emotions and develop positive coping strategies.
- Promoting positive behaviour through therapeutic approaches, consistency, understanding, and clear boundaries.
- Supporting young people to develop independence and essential life skills.
- Supporting education, health appointments, hobbies, activities, and community involvement.
- Acting as a positive role model for young people.
- Following individual care plans, risk assessments, behaviour support plans, and safeguarding procedures.
- Administering and recording medication where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Completing accurate daily records, incident reports, body maps, behaviour records, and other required documentation.
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Reporting safeguarding concerns and incidents promptly and appropriately.
- Working effectively with colleagues and external professionals.
- Supporting the home's routines, standards, and policies.
- Maintaining confidentiality and respecting the dignity, privacy, and individuality of each young person.
- Working in accordance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and relevant Quality Standards.
- Supporting the permanent staff team to maintain consistency and stability for the young people.

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for individuals who are compassionate, reliable, resilient, patient, and committed to improving the lives of children and young people.
You will ideally have:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification (desirable/essential depending on company requirements).
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential care setting.
- Experience supporting children and young people who may display challenging or complex behaviours.
- A minimum of 12 months' experience working within an Ofsted\-regulated children's residential home is desirable.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Knowledge of trauma\-informed and therapeutic approaches.
- Excellent communication and record\-writing skills.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep\-in shifts.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable/required depending on the needs of the home.
- £14\.00 – £15\.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- £70 per sleep\-in.
