ABOUT US

Beau’s Bakehouse is a small artisan bakery based in Cambridge, Gloucestershire (between Dursley and Slimbridge).

We lovingly handmake and hand\-pack biscuits, traybakes, and cakes for sale through farm shops, independent retailers, cafés, online, and direct to customers.

We bake to order to ensure our products reach customers as fresh as possible.

We are currently a close\-knit team of eight, including the bakery owner. This newly created role will play an important part in supporting the bakery’s continued growth and smooth day\-to\-day operations.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced bakery professional to help lead and manage the bakery with minimal day\-to\-day oversight from the owner.

This is a hands\-on leadership role requiring strong baking expertise, operational organisation, and a proactive approach to team management, food safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Head Baker to oversee daily bakery operations


• Ensure all products consistently meet high quality standards


• Manage kitchen hygiene, food safety, and HACCP procedures


• Oversee production planning, stock control, purchasing, and production records


• Identify and implement improvements to equipment, systems, processes, and staffing efficiencies


• Support new product and packaging development alongside the bakery owner


• Mentor, train, and support bakery staff


• Act as a positive role model and help maintain a supportive team culture

• Strong artisan baking experience


• Previous experience in a senior bakery, kitchen, or production leadership role


• Good understanding of food production and food safety standards (including HACCP)


• Strong leadership and team management skills


• Experience with stock control, supplier coordination, and cost management


• Excellent organisational and problem\-solving abilities


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality


• Comfortable using IT systems and digital records

Salary from £30,000 depending on experience, plus performance bonus.

Full\-time preferred, although part\-time/flexible arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
