The Role
Responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance, minimize downtime, and support continuous production operations. Providing full engineering support under the leadership of the Engineering Team Leaders and the Chief Engineer.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsibility for planned and preventative maintenance of PPM’s where possible.
- Resolve machine breakdowns to ensure maximum line efficiency of the production process.
- To assist in maintaining the engineering stores by identifying parts, raising parts requisition forms for repairs and stock replenishment while ensuring stores booking in and out procedures are being adhered to.
- Complete all engineering work to a high level of engineering, quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Always adhere to company policies including the personal hygiene policy, using correct manual handling techniques, and always wearing the correct PPE.
- Understand, support, and promote brand integrity and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
- Formal engineering qualification to at least City and Guilds level, ONC/HNC level or equivalent or extensive experience working as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical or mechanical maintenance background with well\-developed analytical fault\-finding skills.
- Knowledge and experience of food processing equipment and the maintenance of modern processing plant machinery would be preferred but not essential.
- The ability to use electrical test equipment, read schematic diagrams with experience in single and 3 phase installations including motors, inverters, and PLCs are desirable but not essential.
- Thrive on working in a fast paced, high pressured environment with a passion for delivering results and the drive to exceed expectations.
- Excellent attention to detail, decision making and problem\-solving skills with a sense of priority for deadlines.
- Good understanding of English (written, verbal and reading).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a professional approach and attitude.
- Work in confined spaces whether this is inside our machines or in areas such as the roof.
- Working at height and having the ability to climb ladders and into scissor lifts.
- Machine breakdowns requiring lengthy periods of time on feet to resolve and close out errors.
- Repair and usage of machinery onsite.
- Normal contractual hours of work are 45 hours. The normal backshift working day is from 15\.00\-00\.00 Monday to Friday inclusive.
