About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer to join a Risk Systems team responsible for a distributed platform that calculates market and counterparty risk.

You will develop high\-throughput, high\-performance Java applications within a multidisciplinary Agile team, implementing technical, regulatory, and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions;


• Clarify requirements and contribute to technical studies and solution design;


• Develop and optimise Java components, tools, and frameworks;


• Build solutions using distributed architectures and REST APIs;


• Implement unit, integration, and acceptance testing strategies;


• Apply automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery;


• Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with development and security standards;


• Support releases, deployment tools, and technical documentation;


• Share engineering best practices across development teams.

Mandatory Requirements

• Solid experience in Java backend development;


• Hands\-on experience with Spring;


• Knowledge of distributed systems and programming patterns;


• Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Apache Cassandra, Oracle Coherence, Spectrum Symphony, or Tomcat;


• Understanding of parallelisation and high\-performance processing;


• Experience with unit, integration, and acceptance testing;


• Strong knowledge of CI/CD and automated testing;


• Experience with REST\-based architectures;


• English at C1 level.

Nice to Have

• Experience with market or counterparty risk systems;


• Knowledge of capital markets or banking;


• Experience with big data, compute grids, data grids, or GPU\-based processing;


• Experience working in Agile at Scale environments.

The ideal candidate is an autonomous Senior Java Engineer with strong distributed\-systems expertise and a focus on performance, scalability, security, and code quality. You are comfortable working under demanding deadlines and collaborating with quantitative, business, and technical teams.
