About the Role
You will join a team building a digital hub for store planning in a large global retail environment. The goal is to create the natural starting point for planning physical customer meeting points by bringing together interactive 3D layouts, relevant data, and connected workflows in one experience.
In this role, you will help create the backend foundation that makes the hub work across tools, systems, and databases. You will contribute to integrations, APIs, cloud services, and secure information flows that support better decisions for users around the world. Job DescriptionYou will build and evolve backend services and backend-for-frontend capabilities for a digital planning platform.
You will design, document, and maintain REST APIs using OpenAPI and Swagger, and work with GraphQL where it adds value.
You will connect systems, databases, and content sources to create reliable information flows across the platform.
You will contribute to cloud-based solutions using containers, CI/CD workflows, and Infrastructure as Code.
You will work with authentication, authorization, and RBAC to create secure and scalable access patterns.
You will collaborate closely with the team to find clean technical solutions that fit the existing architecture and user needs.
You will help enable data-driven and 3D-supported planning experiences that connect inspiration, planning, and execution.
RequirementsYou have solid backend experience with Node.js, Java, or C#.
You are comfortable working with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful.
You have experience with backend-for-frontend patterns.
You have strong hands-on experience designing and documenting REST APIs with OpenAPI or Swagger, and you understand GraphQL.
You work confidently with Git and Git Bash in modern development workflows.
You have experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code, including Bicep or Terraform.
You understand database technologies and SQL, for example PostgreSQL.
You have worked with containers and cloud services, including Docker and Azure services such as Azure Container Apps, Azure Blob, or Managed Identity.
You understand Single Sign-On and authorization flows, for example JWT, JWKS, or similar access solutions.
You have a good understanding of system integration and information flow between systems and databases.
You care about accessibility, information security, and data privacy in backend design.
You are comfortable with AI-assisted spec-driven development and schema validation tools such as Zod.
You enjoy working closely with others to adapt solutions to end-user needs and improve the overall architecture.
Nice to haveExperience with AI or MCP integrations, such as modelcontextprotocol, Anthropic SDKs, or OpenAI SDKs.
Python and Flask.
C# and .NET, including work related to Revit add-ins.
Java Spring Boot.
Event streaming and search technologies such as Kafka or OpenSearch.
Multi-cloud experience, for example AWS S3 or Cloudflare Workers.
Autodesk Forge or APS Design Automation.
Observability tools such as Splunk or OpenTelemetry.
