Back Office Analyst

As a Back Office Analyst, you sit at the heart of Luminus’ Optimisation department, ensuring accuracy, control and insight across complex energy market activities. You combine analytical depth with operational ownership, validating and invoicing optimisation activities while continuously strengthening data quality, automation and reporting. In a fast\-evolving energy market, you play a key role in protecting Luminus’ financial interests and supporting smarter decision\-making.

What you’ll do

• You own end\-to\-end validation and invoicing for assigned Ancillary Services activities, acting as subject matter expert and defending Luminus’ interests with external counterparties.


• You analyse balancing and ancillary services results, identify root causes of discrepancies or penalties and translate insights into corrective actions.


• You design and maintain control, tracking and reporting tools to ensure transparency on invoice flows, exposure and cash impacts.


• You contribute to financial forecasting and ad\-hoc impact analyses for new projects or regulatory changes.


• You drive automation, data quality and continuous improvement using analytical and BI tools, bridging operations and technology.


• You collaborate closely with Optimisation, Finance, IT and Generation teams to align data, processes and financial outcomes.µ

• You hold a Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or a related field and bring 3–5 years of relevant analytical or operational experience.


• You have a strong affinity with the energy sector and a keen interest in energy markets, balancing mechanisms or ancillary services.


• You combine excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with a meticulous eye for detail and data quality.


• You communicate clearly and confidently, able to challenge discrepancies with fact\-based arguments.


• You are proactive, structured and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.


• You have strong technical affinity: advanced Excel is essential, while SQL, Python, VBA or BI tools are strong assets.
