About the role
As our Automation Engineer, you make sure our software runs reliably in live production environments. You define interfaces, develop robust control architectures and act as the direct point of contact for manufacturers and customers on site.
What you will do
- Develop and integrate control software, from architecture through to live operation
- Connect machines and plant components via industrial protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, PROFINET and Ethernet
- Clarify technical interfaces directly with machine and plant manufacturers
- Build reusable middleware and adapter solutions that are generic and scalable
- Commission partial and complete systems, both in house and at customer sites
- Produce complete plant documentation as a reliable basis for operation and maintenance
- Degree or technician qualification in automation technology, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or comparable
- Several years of professional experience in an industrial environment
- Ideally knowledge of C\+\+, Python or C\#, as well as Docker and Docker Compose
- Experience with UML, object oriented programming and communication standards such as PROFINET, Modbus, OPC UA and Ethernet
- Confident with Linux (e.g. Arch Linux, Debian) and Windows 11
- Independent, structured way of working and genuine enjoyment of teamwork
- Willingness to travel occasionally (under 20%)
- Business fluent German and English
