Automation Engineer (Doors, Gates, Barries & Shutters)

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Automation Engineer to join our fast\-growing team working across a variety of social housing and commercial contracts. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys varied work, problem\-solving, and delivering excellent customer service.
You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of automatic doors, gates, barriers, and related automation systems. The role combines reactive fault\-finding callouts with planned preventative maintenance and installation projects across multiple client sites.
Key Responsibilities
As an Automation Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to reactive callouts and diagnosing faults efficiently
- Carrying out installations, servicing, repairs, and planned maintenance
- Working on automatic doors, gates, barriers, roller shutters, and access systems
- Conducting site surveys and system inspections
- Accurately completing digital job reports and documentation
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health \& safety regulations
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service
- Participating in an out\-of\-hours callout rota when required
- Supporting clients across social housing and commercial environments
Skills \& Experience Required
- Strong experience working with:
+ Gate automation systems
+ Roller shutters
+ Barriers and automated entrance systems
- Experience with manufacturers such as FAAC, CAME, BFT, Hörmann, or similar is highly desirable
- Relevant industry qualifications such as DHF, ADSA, or equivalent
- Good understanding of BS EN 16005 and DHF guidelines
- Ability to read and interpret:
+ Wiring diagrams
+ Schematics
- Strong fault\-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
