DC Automation is seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, programming, and commissioning of automated control systems, working across a range of industrial environments to a consistently high standard of quality and safety.

  • Programming \& Development: Design and develop PLC, HMI, and VSD programs according to functional specifications and client requirements.

  • Testing \& Commissioning: Conduct system testing, off\-site and on\-site commissioning, and startup of automated systems.

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve software, hardware, and control system issues during development and commissioning phases.

  • Compliance: Ensure all systems adhere to safety regulations, electrical codes, and company quality standards.

  • Installation Support: Occasionally assist with off\-site installations and commissioning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of control systems, electrical diagrams, and automation architecture. Must be proficient in working with PLCs, HMIs, and VSDs.

  • Experience: Previous experience in industrial automation, typically 2\+ years, and ability to read electrical and control schematics. Experience with ePlan is required.

  • Skills: Proficient in PLC programming (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley, or equivalent), HMI development, and VSD configuration.

  • Education: High school diploma, often accompanied by a post\-secondary certificate in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Valid work visa/authorisation to work in Ireland
Physical Requirements
  • Manual Handling: Frequently lifting and moving components.

  • Work Environment: Mostly workshop\-based, involving long periods of standing.
Job Type: Full\-time

Pay: €50,000\.00\-€62,000\.00 per year
