Audit and Client Manager

Jack Ross Chartered Accountants, Barnfield House, Salford, Manchester

Reporting to: Talha Raja, Audit Director

Jack Ross has been advising North West businesses for 75 years. We act for owner\-managed companies, groups and not\-for\-profit entities, and we are a Xero Gold partner running our own cloud accounting platform, JacRox. This is a qualified\-level appointment: you will hold your own portfolio and take audits from planning through to sign off, working directly with the Audit Director.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments end to end, from planning and risk assessment through fieldwork to completion, reporting to the Audit Director.


• Act as principal day\-to\-day contact for a portfolio of clients, covering year\-end and management accounts, VAT, and advisory queries as they arise.


• Prepare and review statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105, including group accounts and consolidations.


• Prepare and review corporation tax computations and returns.


• Review the work of trainees and junior staff, and support their training and professional development.


• Deal with HMRC, solicitors, banks and other professional advisers on client matters.


• Contribute to workflow planning, deadline management and process improvement across the audit and accounts team.

Requirements

• ACA or ACCA qualified.


• Substantial UK practice experience across audit fieldwork and accounts preparation.


• Experience of running a client portfolio and of reviewing or supervising the work of others.


• Confident across cloud accounting software; we use Xero extensively.


• Experience of CCH is desirable but not essential.


• Full UK driving licence.
