The Black Country Federation is seeking an Attendance Officer with Safeguarding and Pastoral Responsibilities to join our ambitious and improving partnership of schools.

About the Federation

Brockmoor Primary School and Brierley Hill Primary School work in close partnership as part of the Black Country Federation, sharing a strong commitment to delivering an ambitious curriculum and securing the very best outcomes for every pupil.

Brockmoor Primary School is a recognised CUSP Lead School, working nationally with Unity Schools Partnership to support curriculum development and professional learning. The school regularly welcomes visitors from across the country who come to see and learn from our best practice in curriculum design and teaching.

Brierley Hill Primary School is currently a CUSP Lead School for Early Years and is working towards joining the wider CUSP Lead School network across the full curriculum by the summer term.

Across both schools we maintain high standards and strong expectations, with clear ambitions for the children we serve and the community we work within. Our staff are united in their commitment to delivering an excellent education through a knowledge rich, carefully sequenced curriculum and consistently strong teaching.

About the role

If so, Black Country Federation would love to hear from you! Governors wish to appoint an attendance officer that will work with our school communities. This is an exciting time to join us as it provides a great opportunity to work closely with both schools; sharing good practice and building on our ongoing progress.

Main Duties:

  • Ensure all students’ attendance is monitored on a daily basis and take relevant actions to raise and highlight levels of attendance across the year groups

  • Ensure that contact with a wide range of people is friendly, supportive and professional, and that complex queries and potential conflict situations are well\-handled

  • Work collaboratively with school leaders and the wider safeguarding/pastoral teams in both schools, providing consistent support to all pupils and responding appropriately to individual needs
The successful candidate will be someone who:

  • enjoys working as part of a team and be able to communicate effectively with pupils, parent, staff, stakeholders and externally agencies

  • will quickly build rapport and effective professional relationships with our families, young people and colleagues

  • has previous experience of working with children in an education setting

  • has the ability and willingness to work flexibly to meet the demands of the role
