Associate Business Development Lead

UK \| Hybrid Working – regular onsite presence is expected throughout the probation period, with two days per week onsite thereafter.

The Associate Business Development Lead supports the growth of DLRC by contributing to business development activities across defined territories and service areas.

The opportunity:

This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, supporting lead generation and proposal development, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. The Associate will work closely with the wider Business Development and regulatory teams to convert leads into new business and support overall revenue growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the company’s Business Development strategy by identifying, qualifying, and converting new business opportunities across target clients, markets, and services

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients through proactive outreach, networking, industry events, and effective stakeholder engagement

  • Coordinate and support business development activities including client meetings, introductory discussions, bid defences, proposal preparation, presentations, and client\-facing materials

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Business Development, Regulatory, Finance, and Operational teams to ensure high\-quality, aligned, and commercially effective client solutions and deliverables

  • Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, client interactions, and sales activities within CRM systems, ensuring robust pipeline management and reporting

  • Monitor and analyse key business development metrics, including revenue performance, conversion rates, pipeline activity, and client retention, using data and insights to support decision\-making and opportunity tracking

  • Contribute to the development and execution of territory and service\-level business development plans aligned with wider organisational objectives and growth strategies

  • Demonstrate accountability for assigned tasks and deliverables, proactively identifying issues, prioritising workload effectively, and supporting timely resolution of challenges

  • Work collaboratively within the Business Development team and wider organisation, contributing positively to team objectives, sharing responsibility, and supporting senior colleagues in achieving business goals

  • Generate and share ideas to support business development, marketing initiatives, and continuous improvement, demonstrating curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to explore new approaches

  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients and colleagues, building trust, fostering positive working relationships, and supporting negotiations to progress opportunities and agree next steps

Apply a sound understanding of business development, sales, and marketing principles, alongside proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications, to support successful commercial outcomes.
  • About you:

  • Experience or strong interest in business development, sales, or marketing (life sciences experience desirable but not essential at this level)

  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical, biotech, or MedTech industries is advantageous

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Proactive and motivated with a willingness to learn

  • Experience with CRM systems is advantageous

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Eligible to work in the UK \+ Travel Internationally where required

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

The role will involve being flexible with working times and hours including potential travel in evenings and weekends, Nationally \& Internationally.
