You will play an important supporting role within the Traffic and Transportation team, working closely with more senior engineers to deal with requests and deliver schemes. We want you to:
- Create robust design solutions which meet with defined objectives and constraints.
- Prepare and check feasibility studies, appraisal / assessment reports and other written documents.
- Develop engineering solutions and present engineering options.
- Work as part of a collaborative team with Councillors/contractors/Public.
- Compile technical drawings using AutoCAD and associated packages.
- Support and implement the Traffic Management and Road Safety policies and strategies of Salford City Council.
- Liaise with a wide range of audiences to resolve basic queries in a quick and efficient manner both orally and in writing.
- Keep the needs of Elected Members and the public in mind, providing a positive customer experience.
- Intermediate/Advanced AutoCAD experience.
- Intermediate/Advanced MS Office skills, especially MS Excel and MS Word.
- Strong technical skills relating to the design of Traffic Management and Road Safety schemes.
- Sound knowledge of and experience in Traffic and Road Safety methods.
- Sound working knowledge of creating and critically reviewing scheme documentation.
- Applied knowledge of quality, safety and environmental processes.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
