Who you are:
As a Student Life Assistant, you will help deliver a supportive housing experience and dynamic cultural activities program for High School students (Summer) and US College (All year round) studying in Madrid. This role is ideal for recent graduates, especially those who are organized and have studied abroad—who want to create the kind of engaging, immersive experiences that make time abroad unforgettable.
Working closely with the Manager of the Student Life Office, as part of a team, you will play a key role in building supportive housing and student life experiences.
What You’ll Do
Housing
Help to support student housing arrangements in alignment with established CIEE processes and standards.
Assist with the housing placement process, including preparing materials and delivering housing orientations for students and homestay hosts.
Conduct routine evaluations of housing and homestay experiences for each program and support the delivery of host training and guidance.
Maintain accurate communication with homestay hosts and housing providers, tracking requests and ensuring maintenance issues are followed up and resolved.
Process housing change requests and communicate end\-of\-program departure procedures to students.
Track housing\-related expenses and assist with basic budget reconciliation (e.g., updating Excel trackers, monitoring costs vs. budget).
Support the Student Life Manager in coordinating with housing providers and homestays, including preparing information needed for agreements and discussions.
Cultural Programming \& Events
Support the development and execution of a diverse cultural activities agenda that appeals to a wide range of student interests
Plan and coordinate events such as cultural visits, excursions, workshops, volunteer placements and social activities across Madrid
Identify new, cost\-effective ideas and local opportunities that enhance students’ cultural immersion
Assist with logistics including bookings, vendors, schedules, and on\-site coordination
Regularly chaperone activities and engage directly with students during events
Orientation \& Student Experience
Support the delivery of student orientations, participate in icebreakers
Help students adjust to housing and encourage engagement with local culture
Chaperone cultural activities and participate in occasional evening activities report expenses in a timely manner.
Track participation, collect feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement of programming
Health, Safety \& Support
Help ensure a safe and supportive environment in housing \& student experience
Be attentive to student housing wellbeing and escalate concerns when needed
Participate in a rotating emergency phone schedule on specific dates throughout the summer. CIEE provides training and has clearly established protocols for managing such situations. Back up support is available for difficult situations.

Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
At least one year of experience in a professional or office environment
Fluency in English and Spanish
Strong organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of 360 Microsoft Teams; High level knowledge of Excel
Valid work authorization for Spain.

Working Conditions
Full\-time, local work contract (39 hours/week), Monday–Friday, typically 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
Flex\-time benefit for Friday work from 9:00 to 2:00pm when working at the office
Participation in a rotating 24/7 emergency phone schedule
Office\-based role in Madrid, you may be asked to accompany students on doctor´s visits or to police stations
Four paid vacation days for the 2,5\-month period included as part of the contract.
