About the Role
T.M. Lewin is opening a new store in St Albans in August 2026, and we’re looking for an Assistant Store Manager to play a key role in the launch and ongoing success of the store.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a new store opening, working closely with the Store Manager to build the team and establish strong standards from day one.
As Assistant Store Manager, you’ll contribute to store performance, team development, and operational standards. You’ll lead from the front on the shop floor, role\-modelling excellent service and helping to deliver a consistently high\-quality customer experience.
You’ll be actively involved in the day\-to\-day running of the store, supporting the delivery of results, maintaining standards, and helping to develop the team within a growing heritage retail brand.
Key Responsibilities
Team Support
- Support the Store Manager in leading and developing the store team, taking ownership of day\-to\-day team performance on the shop floor
- Help set clear expectations and maintain consistent performance standards
- Provide coaching and day\-to\-day guidance to team members
- Deliver excellent customer service and support sales performance
- Lead by example on the shop floor
- Support the team to achieve targets and KPIs
- Support day\-to\-day store operations, including opening and closing
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Maintain consistently high standards across the shop floor
- Maintain visual merchandising standards in line with brand guidelines
- Support stock management and replenishment
- Assist with promotions and seasonal launches
- Experience in a retail environment at supervisor or management level
- Confident supporting team performance and addressing issues proactively
- Strong customer service focus with a hands\-on approach
- Commercially aware and comfortable working to sales targets and KPIs
- Organised, reliable, and able to maintain consistent standards
- Motivated to develop into a Store Manager role over time, with the capability to take on increasing responsibility
- Salary circa £32,000 per annum
