Role Overview
As Assistant Store Manager at our soon to open Camden store, you will support the Store Owner/General Manager in delivering excellent store performance through strong leadership, exceptional customer service, and a highly engaged team.
You will help drive sales, maintain operational standards, and ensure every customer enjoys a fun and memorable Ben \& Jerry's experience. You will lead by example, motivate the team, and take responsibility for the day\-to\-day running of the store when the General Manager is not present.
Key Responsibilities
Sales \& Business Performance
- Support the General Manager in achieving store sales, profitability, and performance targets.
- Encourage upselling and promotional activity to maximise sales opportunities.
- Monitor daily sales performance and help identify opportunities to increase revenue.
- Support local marketing initiatives, community events, and catering opportunities to grow the business.
- Lead, coach, and motivate team members to deliver excellent customer service.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
- Assist with scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and high\-energy team culture.
- Provide ongoing feedback and support to help team members develop.
- Ensure every customer receives friendly, efficient, and memorable service.
- Act as a role model for Ben \& Jerry's brand values and service standards.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.
- Support the daily operation of the store, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety, health \& safety, and cash handling procedures.
- Assist with stock management, inventory counts, ordering, and stock control.
- Help maintain product quality, merchandising standards, and store presentation.
- Step into the Manager's role when required and ensure smooth day\-to\-day operations.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in retail, hospitality, or food service.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Results\-focused with an ability to support sales growth.
- Well organised with good problem\-solving skills.
- Positive, hands\-on approach and ability to work in a fast\-paced environment.
- Flexible and reliable, with a strong team mentality.
- Consistently achieving sales and operational targets.
