Location: Reading, Berkshire (RG2 7PY)
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £25,583 - £28,142 per annum (actual)
Agreed overtime available when required
Hours: 37 hours per week, all year round (52 weeks)

Are you a practical, proactive individual with experience in site maintenance, facilities management or general caretaking? We are seeking a reliable Site Support Assistant to help maintain a safe, secure and well-presented educational environment.
This varied role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem solving and taking pride in the upkeep of buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
- Maintain grounds, external areas and facilities to a high standard.
- Conduct routine site inspections and record compliance checks.
- Assist with the management of contractors and monitor completed works.
- Support the operation of heating, lighting and other building systems.
- Open and secure premises, including alarm setting and keyholder responsibilities.
- Support fire safety procedures, testing and compliance requirements.
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained across the site.
- Assist with room set-ups, furniture moving and event preparation.
- Support lettings and occasional evening or weekend activities when required.
- Has experience in building maintenance, caretaking, facilities or a similar environment.
- Possesses good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
- Can work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Has a strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Is reliable, adaptable and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
- Has excellent communication skills and can build positive working relationships with staff, contractors and visitors.
