Assistant Shop Floor Manager (Evening's/Late Night)

Job Summary

We are looking for a hands\-on Assistant Shop Floor Manager to support our Shop Floor Manager, Shimmy, and take ownership of the evening and overnight operation at Halpern's. This is a practical floor\-based management role for someone who can lead a team, set the pace and make sure the store is left fully worked, replenished, clean and ready to trade.

Working Pattern – 40 Hours

Tuesday: 4:00pm–12:00am

Wednesday: 4:00pm–2:00am

Thursday: 4:00pm–2:00am

Friday: OFF

Saturday: 10:00pm–2:00am

Sunday: 4:00pm–2:00am

What You'll Be Responsible For

Running the shop floor during allocated evening and overnight shifts and directing the team.

Making sure every aisle is worked, faced and replenished before the shift finishes.

Working all available off\-sales/back stock back onto sale.

Ensuring fridges and freezers are full, faced and customer ready.

Keeping Special Buys tidy, organised and ready to shop.

Ensuring the wine cellar is fully replenished and presented.

Making sure the slush machine and iSqueeze orange juice machine are cleaned to the required standard.

Leaving the warehouse/back\-stock area clean, tidy, organised and safe.

Completing a final store walk and handing over any genuine stock shortages or unresolved issues.

Maintaining strong standards of customer service, food safety, health \& safety, Challenge 25 and store procedures.

Supporting, coaching and motivating colleagues and moving resource around the store when priorities change.

What We're Looking For

Previous retail supervisory, team leader or management experience.

A hands\-on manager who is comfortable working alongside the team rather than managing from an office.

Strong organisation and the confidence to allocate work and follow up on completion.

Good standards of housekeeping, stock availability and merchandising.

Reliable, accountable and comfortable taking ownership of the store late into the evening.

A positive 'one team' attitude and willingness to support wherever the store needs it.

The Role

You will report directly to the Shop Floor Manager. The role has clear responsibility for evening/overnight shop\-floor standards, while formal HR decisions, recruitment, contractual changes and major business decisions remain with senior management.

Salary: 30k

Contract: 40 hours per week.
