This is a hands\-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, supporting the team and ensuring every guest enjoys a relaxed, professional and memorable dining experience.

The Role

Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and senior management team, the Assistant Restaurant Manager will help lead daily restaurant operations while maintaining the high standards expected at Hyll Hotel.

You will play a key role in supporting the team, ensuring service runs smoothly and that guests receive attentive, thoughtful hospitality from the moment they arrive until they leave.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

• Deliver warm, professional and attentive service to all guests


• Ensure every guest receives a consistently high\-quality dining experience


• Handle guest feedback or concerns promptly and professionally


• Build rapport with regular guests and create a welcoming atmosphere

• Support the Restaurant Manager in leading the front\-of\-house team


• Be present on the floor during service, guiding and supporting staff


• Ensure service runs smoothly and efficiently during busy periods


• Lead by example in maintaining service standards and professionalism

• Assist with training, mentoring and developing team members


• Help create a positive, motivated working environment


• Support staff with product knowledge and service techniques

• Assist with restaurant opening and closing procedures


• Manage reservations and table plans to ensure smooth service flow


• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards


• Support stock control, ordering and cost management where required

• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service


• Communicate clearly with colleagues across the hotel to deliver a consistent guest experience

• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality


• Strong passion for food, drink and hospitality


• Excellent communication and leadership skills


• Calm and confident in a fast\-paced service environment


• Strong attention to detail and high service standards


• Positive attitude and a hands\-on approach

• Friendly, professional and approachable

This role involves evening, weekend and holiday shifts in line with restaurant service.
