As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in supporting our Quantity Surveying team while gaining invaluable experience and knowledge in the construction industry. This position is ideal for a recent graduate looking to kick\-start their career with a market leader in innovative construction solutions.
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for:
- Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Conduct cost analysis for construction projects and provide accurate estimations.
- Support the procurement of subcontractors and materials, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with the project team to monitor project progress, identifying and resolving any cost\-related issues.
- Assist with the preparation and evaluation of variations and claims.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with contractual specifications.
- Assist in maintaining accurate project records and documentation.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Commercial management of sub\-contractor accounts from commencement on site to negotiation and agreement of final accounts
- Preparation of monthly cost value reconciliation reports
- Preparation of monthly cost and value to complete forecasts in conjunction with the Site Manager
- Assist in cost and risk management
- Support the Project Manager/Planner to evaluate time and cost impacts of changes/delays
- Proactive approach to the environment and customer care of all the stakeholders involved in a project
- Good negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong passion for the construction industry and a desire to learn and grow.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with great attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of meeting deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proactive and self\-motivated approach to work, demonstrating a strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a commercial and pressurized background
