We’re looking for a proactive and detail\-driven Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Derby. This is a great opportunity to gain hands\-on experience with real responsibility across cost control, subcontractor management, valuations, and commercial delivery.

You’ll work closely with experienced Commercial Director (RICS\-accredited) on projects who will be training to allow continuous progression in your role.

Key Responsibilities

• Price jobs using schedules of rates (SORs) and site surveys


• Develop delivery models for direct teams and subcontractors


• Draft and issue subcontractor work orders


• Manage and record variations accurately


• Liaise with site teams and clients to agree scope changes


• Prepare monthly valuations and issue invoices


• Submit final accounts for subcontractors and clients


• Maintain and analyse Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)

• Experience in construction (preferably in social housing or refurbishment)


• Familiarity with SORs, CVRs, and multi\-trade projects


• Strong skills in Excel and construction management software


• Great communication skills and attention to detail


• Ability to manage workload independently and solve problems effectively
